Love and dating: The She-Hulk edition

Well tomorrow is the big day, as Heather and I am off to VA to celebrate our 10-year anniversary.  Even though we know
the weather's going to suck, we're both going to try our damndest to have a good time.

Speaking of love, I believe like most people, everyone is deserving of love. To have that special someone in his/her life
that completes and complements them. But for some more than others, finding that special someone is harder than it should be. Case in point; She-Hulk. Seriously man, how many failed relationships has she had? If they don't die, they turn on you, then they die. That's pretty much a given in a super-hero's life. Still hope springs eternal, and the search for true love goes on. Let's sneak a peak into a recent series of possible suitors for Shulkie, and see how things went shall we?

It looks like the start of a beautiful...whatever it is they'll have or be doing.

See you next week folks.....

Can you spare a job brother?

2 days and counting untill Heather and I are off to VA. The bad news though is that the weather's going to suck hard while we're there. Thanks jet stream! You asshole! Nothing we can do about it, but make the most out of it, and enjoy our anniversary together.

A real quick one for you guys(not so quick making it though)....

Yeah Captain Mar-vel got the shaft during Civil War didn't he?  He was supposed to be brought back, but then Marvel swerved the fans, and it turns out "past Cap" was a Skrull after all. Talk about your cockblock huh?
Look I know if you're a fan of the way Jim Starlin wrote his touching death and want him left alone, then that's fine, but can't Marvel do some past times stories with him or something? The whole Dead Avengers things was alright I guess, but damn did they miss the boat on some good stories with that one huh? Imagine a whole series of that stuff, but with good writing to back it all. Gold I tell ya', gold! Anyway, at least he didn't get the treatment that the other Captain Marvel's getting right? That whole family's a mess, and DC has obviously shown they don't know how to write him decently or even at all. Give him to Alex Ross I say. He'll spin money and gold out of that sum' bitch.
Oh well.......

Have a good one guys.....

Honey quick, you're favorite show's on!

It's almost that time again in tv land; may sweeps is right around the corner, ready to put your favorite shows to bed untill the fall season. No doubt you'll soon be looking forward to the upcoming cliffhangers and surprises that'll wrap up this seasons' shows, or close the book on those shows that didn't make it. One of these shows I'm looking forward to seeing wrapped up is The Office. For those who have been following the show lately, you already know that Steve Carrell is leaving after this season. And if you watched last night's episode, you now know why story-wise. I won't spoil it, but I'm happy he's leaving this way, as it seems to all flow organically and not at all forced or show-horned in. With that said, I wish Steve Carrell good luck in his future endeavors and all of the good, but still mediocre movies he'll go on to make. I myself think the 40 year-old Virgin is the exception though. Anyway I don't know if the show will continue on without Carrell, and in my opinion, it shouldn't. I think they've told all the funny and interesting stories they're going to tell and they should end the show and go out on top. But since I'm not in charge, it's not like anyone cares what I think right?

So what new shows should NBC or other networks plan to develop for the fall season? Howabout more shows about superheroes? Yeah I know, we should all be sick of them by now, and for the most part that's true. Heroes ended badly, The Cape was cancelled, and yet another disasterous show in the form of David E. Kelley's Wonder Woman is yet to grace our presence. My suggestion?  What about these shows:

Or

                                                                                                     Or

                                                                                              and finally

I'll have new posts monday and tuesday, but not wednesday or the rest of the week. I'll be in VA with my fiancee' Heather, as we celebrate our 10-year anniversary together. I can't wait!!!!!   Try not to miss me too much. Ha!

So you then.

Sinestro Sez

Here's a quick one. Enjoy!

Yeah I just noticed some of the panels don't exactly flow as smoothly as I would've liked, but in my defense I was rushing to put this one out so sue me!

For those who don't know, the War of the Green Lanterns is now in full effect. This doesn't look to bad overall, but also serves as another excuse for all-father Johns to retcon the hell out of the Guardians' past. Some of his retcons aren't all bad, and actually to add to the GLC myth in some ways, but others are just unnecessary and wrong.  I hope when this and Flashpoint are done, that Johns can go back to smaller, simpler stories, with Hal fighting over members of his rogues gallery. Hey Johns remember them?   Goldface?  The Tattooed Man?  Lord Sonar?  Evil Star? Him I really miss.  I know Johns is in the midst of his opus and all, but I remember when Hal's adventures weren't so space-oriented all the time.
There's even a quick comment on that by members of the JLA in one of the current issues where they ask Hal "When was the last time you took your ring off?"  You can difinitely apply that to this all-consuming space epic that's going on right now. I believe it's called event fatigue. It does exist you know. Oh well.......

Movie Daze

Yeah both these guys have new movies coming out just in time for summer. At first glance I was skeptical about the choices for lead roles, but Chris Evans has won me over after seeing his incredible transformation from skinny Steve Rogers to mr. muscles Captain America. I'm still on the fence about Thor's movie though. I guess Chris Hemsworth looks alright, but based on what I've seen from the trailer, uh  I don't know. Let's just say I won't watch this movie for the Oscar award-winning acting or anything. I mean even Sir Anthony Hopkins himself didn't think Chris was all that good an actor!  And he would know.

Oh well. Due to my policy about not going to a movie theatre if it's not rated R because of overly-talkative teens/kids, I think I'll wait until both movies come out on DVD before I watch them. That, and I've noticed like the typical superhero movies that come out lately, they don't always follow exactly like the comic book. Which is fine. Not everyone's an expert on these characters, so I expect alittle creative licensing here and there.

On the other hand, I'm really looking forward to the next, and last Batman movie by director Chris Nolan. He really knows his stuff doesn't he?

Lastly, hollywood legend and activist, Elizabeth Taylor died today from heart disease. She was 79.  May you finally rest in peace.

And I'm outta' here......

March Madness!

So March Madness is in full effect, or rather has been for the last few weeks. I myself don't follow sports, so I just don't understand what the big deal is about the final four, or even about college basketball in general. Now before any of you out there who do watch sports, and especially those of you who watch it religiously, get pissed off, allow me to explain myself. You see back when I was a kid, I was heavily into sports around that time, and what 8 to 9 year-old boy isn't?
You see I was at the time, into football big time, and only occassionaly showed in any interest in watching the other sports like basketball and baseball. Hell I was so into football, I used to religiously read and study pro and college football schedules and team stats. I collected football and baseball cards, studies the stats on the players, and watched a fair amount of the games.  Oh you should have seen me! I even used to give my dad's friends advice on who would win and who would lose; you know the important stuff to know if you were betting on the games. I don't know how closely they listened to this punk kid, but my dad still gets a laugh out of the whole thing. Anyway, as I got older comic books and pro-wrestling stole my interest away, never to return again; except to watch the occasional Steelers regular season or Super Bowl game. By the way, I'm still pissed the Steelers lost the Super Bowl! It was theirs to lose and they didn't disapoint.....Green Bay fans that is. Oh well.

Anyhoo, the point is I'd rather play football or basketball than watch it. To me watching sports is boring. Every year it's always the same stupid plays, the same stupid calls, and ocassionally, a stupid call by the ref. And yet somehow even by employing these same tactics, both the players and coaches expect something different to happen.  I thought one of the definitions of madness, is to keep doing the same thing over and over again, but expect a different outcome?

And don't even get me on the subject of how overpaid today's athletes are. Because they are in my opinion. All those millions just to play a few hours of ball, could just as easily go to policemen, firefighters, and school teachers. But I guess that's why I'm not in charge of a pro athlete's salary; because he'd be making a little over mimimum wage folks. I kid you not!

So in honor of March Madness, I made alittle skit for you today. Enjoy!

Remember folks, Tax day's around April 15th! Don't be late.......
